Ronald B. "Einnor" Haight, 66, of 24 Curtis Rd., Ludlow, died early Monday morning, May 31, 2010 at the Kane Community Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 21, 1943 in Kane, he was the son of Burdett and Esther Irwin Haight. On Feb. 25, 1967 in Kane, he married Judith M. Hedlund, who survives. Mr. Haight was a captain in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War, receiving a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. For 31 years, he was a physical education instructor and coach in the Kane Area School District, where he also served as the announcer for football games. He was the commencement speaker in 2003, a year after his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kane, the Kane Country Club, the BPO Elks #329 in Kane and the American Legion in Ludlow. He was a PIAA volleyball and track official, and was the organizer of the McKean County Track & Field Special Olympics for over 30 years. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Todd M. (Stacy) Haight of Ludlow and Tad M. (Kristin) Haight of Marshburg; a sister, Jeanene Flegal of Imlay City, Mich.; a brother, Harold R. Haight of Venice, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Rachel, Rylee, Peyton and Cooper Haight. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, and may attend a service at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Friday with the rev. David Lake, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow.
