Jim Smart, 72, of Edinboro, died Friday, May 28, 2010 at home with his wife at his side. He was born in Kane on June 11, 1937, son of the late Robert and Elizabeth McKenna Smart.
Jim worked at General McLane High School for over 37 years, where he also was a basketball and golf coach. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. Jim also took great pride and pleasure in caring for his beautiful lawn.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Sheryl Snyder Smart; his son, James R. Smart of Evanston, Ill.; his daughter, Kristen Garcia, and her husband Michael of Westerville, Ohio; his brother, Robert E. Smart, of Stamford, Conn.; his sister, Mary Toth, and her husband David, of Hertford, N.C.; also his cherished grandchildren, Benjamin and Olivia Garcia.
Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home, 210 Erie St., Edinboro, on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Church on Thursday at 11 a.m.
