Kathleen âKathyâ Feikls, 50, of 28 East Main St., Ludlow, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born June 12, 1960, in Centralia, Ill., she was a daughter of Hugh A. and Dolores Murphy Rich Jr. On Nov. 28, 1998, at St. Callistus Church, she married Henry âHankâ Feikls Jr. who survives.
Kathy was a loving, caring, compassionate and kind person who loved her family and friends and organized all the family parties, get togethers and travel plans.
Shirley Harrington-Tuhey, age 80, of Scottsdale, Ariz. and previously of St. Charles, Geneva and West Chicago; loving mother of Timothy (Karen) Harrington, Warren (Carol) Harrington, Chris (John) Suppes; cherished grandmother of Lindsey Harrington (Mike Powers), Stacia (Eric) Sanny, Jennifer and Carrie Harrington; dear great grandmother of Carter and Elise Sanny and Hugh Powers; caring stepmother of Deborah (Peter) Meyer, Bob Tuhey and step grandmother of Jakob and Callahan Meyer, Jack and Max Tuhey, Shannon (Jason) Hayes; died recently.
Bethel Whipple, 83, of Jefferson Street, Warren, and formerly of Chapman Dam Road, passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Whipple was born Aug. 22, 1927, in Warren, the daughter of the late Carl and Belle Bly Larson. Bethel was a graduate of Warren High School and enjoyed her family, fishing, and camping.
The rev. Richard C. "Dick" Nelson, 82, loving husband, father, grandfather and faithful servant, formerly of 110 Wetmore Ave., Kane, went home to be with his Lord Saturday afternoon, Dec. 11, 2010 at The Lutheran Home at Kane after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born Aug. 21, 1928 in Johnsonburg, he was the eldest son of Roy and Genevieve Olson Nelson.Â On Sept. 20, 1980 in Kane, he married the former Phyllis E. Eckborg, who survives.
Helen I. Micheau, 103, formerly of 416 Welsh St., died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born May 27, 1907, In Knightstown, Ind., she was a daughter of Clair and Edna Amsler Shreffler.Â She was married to Lewis Micheau who preceded her in death.
Helen I. Micheau, 103, died Tuesday afternoon at the Lutheran Home at Kane.Â Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Cummings Funeral Home.
Frederick Howard Willman, age 79, passed away on Friday, Dec. 3, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas.Â Frederick was born on Nov. 4, 2010 in Mt. Jewett to Howard and Gertrude Willman. He graduated in 1949 from Kane High School and then in 1952 he graduated from Grove City College in Grove City. Frederick was in management for Gulf Oil Corporation for 33 years and was a Comptroller for St. Lukeâs Hospital in Houston, Texas for four years. Upon retirement, he served as a Volunteer for Venice Hospital in Venice, Florida and for the United Way.
Carol J. Nelson, 60, of 381 South Settlement Rd., Kane, died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 4, 2010, at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born April 26, 1950 in Ridgway, she was the daughter of Carl and Rosemond Schilk Wilson.Â On Oct. 12, 1974, she married James P. Nelson, who survives.
Mrs. Nelson worked at Blair New Process in Irvine for several years, then later as a nurses aide at The Lutheran Home at Kane for 18 years.
Betty Jane Johnson, 89, of Sena Kean Manor, Smethport, passed away peacefully Wednesday (Dec. 2, 2010) at her residence.
Born on April 6, 1921 in Crosby, she was a daughter of Harry J. and Ida M. Swanson Timmerman. She graduated from Smethport High School in 1939.Â On Dec. 14, 1940 Betty was married to Quinten C. Johnson in Smethport officiated by the Rev. Leonard D. Peale.Â The couple would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this month.
Timothy A. Brechtel, 63, of 217 Welsh St., Kane, died Friday morning, Dec. 3, 2010 at the Kane Community Hospital after being stricken at home.
Born Sept. 19, 1947 in Ridgway, he was the son of Arthur and Lucille Rezmerski Brechtel.Â On Feb. 8, 1975 in Kane, he married Sherry L. Stewart, who survives.
Mr. Brechtel worked in the lab at Stackpole Corp. in St. Marys for over 20 years.
He attended St. Callistus Catholic Church in Kane, and was a fireman for 47 years in Kane and Wilcox, having served as chief for the latter.Â He also belonged to the Central District Firemen.
