JOHNSONBURG â In a well played match of five sets, the Lady Wolves fell just shy of the win and a chance to go to districts as Johnsonburg took the match 3-2 (25-23, 25-18, 20-25, 20-25, 15-9).
A discussion on the processing of credit cards took place Wednesday at a breakfast meeting for members of the Kane Chamber of Commerce.
Bill Grigsby, a partner in the Grigsby & Waldeck Consulting firm of Bradford, was the guest speaker at the forum at the Kane Manor along Clay Street.
Grigsby said processors of credit cards are âalways trying to figure how to make moneyâ through fees and charges.
A Smethport native and a 2007 graduate of Smethport High School, Grigsby received a mastersâ degree in business administration from DeVry University.
The Photo & Sound Shoppe at 101 Fraley St. in Kane is marking its 33rd anniversary with a 10-day sale that begins today.
Jim Greville, owner of the store that opened in 1978, said this yearâs sale is âbigger than usualâ in observance of âone third of a century of serving the Kane area.â
Greville said the sale features sale prices âalong with daily specials, giveaways and refreshments.â
In June 1978, Greville opened a camera and car stereo store at 21 Fraley St. In June 1981, the store moved to 68 Fraley St. after Greville purchased the former Cardamone Electric business.
Robert D. McClain, 88, of the Lutheran Home at Kane Residential Care Center, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011Â at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 29, 1923 in Corsica, he was the son of Thomas E. and Mabel Richert McClain. On July 23, 1945 in Ridgway, he married Audrey Burton, who died in 2004.
Mr. McClain was a sheet metalist for Elliot Co. in Ridgway for over 20 years, and later for Waterbury Farrell in Cheshire, Conn.
He attended the First Baptist Church of Kane and had been a member of the BPO Elks #329, in Kane.
Victoria M. Fitzgerald died Oct. 21, 2011.
She was the beloved wife of the late Roger A. Fitzgerald; devoted mother of Robert (Donna) Fitzgerald; loving grandmother of Sean (Mary) Fitzgerald and Deborah (Michael) Cammarano; great-grandmother of Matthew, Christopher and Michael; sister of Charlotte Lyte, Walter (Linda) Kellar and the late Josephine Kellar, Helen Rolfe, Jennifer Burns and Leona Kellar.
She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
