SMETHPORT â The McKean County Board of Commissioners is considering a request for a public meeting on issues linked with the drilling of Marcellus Shale natural gas wells.
Bill Belitskus, a Hamlin Township resident who said he is concerned with health and safety issues involving Shale wells, appealed Tuesday to the commissioners to schedule the meeting.
He said a meeting is needed because there is âa breakdown in communicationsâ between the public and Shale developers such as Shell and Seneca Resources.
