James R. Stewart passed away peacefully at his residence with his family by his side on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011.
He was born in Kane on April 21, 1922. Farmville became his home after transferring here with Stackpole in 1966. He worked there until his retirement in 1982.
He was a WWII and Korean War veteran, a member of VFW Post # 7059, lover of nature, his family and his country.
James W. McMurray, 86, of Concord, N.C., passed away after a serious illness, Nov. 26, 2011 at Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte, N.C.
He was born Oct. 24,1925, in Bridgeville, and resided in Kane for 33 years, and moved to North Carolina from Myrtle Beach, S.C., five years ago. Mr. McMurray was the son of the deceased James and Clara McMurray.
He was an employee of West Penn Power Company in Kane, as an electrician for 30 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. McMurray served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Concord, N.C.
Gerald N. "Jerry" Kilmer, 66, of 220 Haines St., Kane, died Monday afternoon, Nov. 28, 2011 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys.
Born Aug. 12, 1945 in Kane, he was the son of William and Sis Croyle Kilmer.Â
After serving as an Air Policeman in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, Mr. Kilmer worked for National Fuel for nearly 27 years.Â He was a member of the American Legion / VFW in Mt. Jewett as well as the Wilcox Sportsman's Club.
