Kenneth VanGiesen, 30, formerly of Kane, died Monday as a result of injuries sustained while on duty in Afghanistan. Arrangements, entrusted to the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc., are incomplete and will be announced when available.

Donald Wayne Olson, 81 of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away on July 18, 2011 from complications of pneumonia.
He was born April 25, 1930, and was the only son of Harold and Mary (Hagey) Olson of Kane, Pennsylvania. Don was a graduate of Kane High School and Willamsport Technical School. Don served in the United States Navy for four years. He retired from Struthers Wells Corporation in Warren after 25 years as a project engineer.
