Joan C. DeVillars, 74, of Montgomery and formerly of Sinclairville, N.Y., and Kane, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Geisinger Medical Center at Danville.
She was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on Thursday, Jan. 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Doris (Billstone) Depledge.
She was the widow of Ralph R. DeVillars, who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2010.
She was a 1954 graduate of the Cassadaga Valley Central School and a 1957 graduate of the WCA Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse by four hospitals for over 50 years.
Betty M. Lindsey, 81, of 604 Welsh St., Kane, died Saturday evening, July 23, 2011, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Oct. 2, 1929 in Bolivar, N.Y., she was the daughter of Bruce and Nive Daely Slater.Â On May 23, 1952, she married Harry J. Lindsey, who died in 1975.
Margaret Pomeroy, 96, of 2 Church St., Kushequa, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Lakeview Nursing Home in Smethport.
Born Aug. 21, 1914, in Media, she was a daughter of Warren and Mary Jane Oâ€™Donell Griswold.Â On Oct. 9, 1937, in Philadelphia, she married James Pomeroy who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Pomeroy worked as a medical secretary for her husband.Â She was a member of the Kushequa Union Church.
