William M. Walton, 65, of Highland, near Kane, died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.
Born Jan. 28, 1946 in Marienville, he was the son of James H. and Alice C. Irwin Walton.Â
He was a self-employed in scrap metal recycling for over 40 years.
Surviving are his fiancĂ©, Donna Swanson, with whom he lived; two sons, Joseph Walton of Sheffield and William Walton of Kane; two daughters, Kathy Walton and Christine Anderson, both of Warren; a brother, Gary Walton of Kane; and a sister, Betty Walton of Rochester, N.Y. Five grandchildren also survive.
Beatrice M. Cunningham, 84, formerly of 62 Pennsylvania Ave. in James City, died Sunday morning, April 3, 2011 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Dec. 18, 1926 in Kane, she was the daughter of Victor and Besse Watterson Lantz.Â On Jan. 21, 1950 in Mt. Jewett, she married Harry H. Cunningham, who died in 1998.
Mrs. Cunningham was an office clerk at Stackpole Corp. in Kane for 16 years and attended Emmanuel Mission Church in Kane.
William A. Walton, 65, of Highland, near Kane, died Sunday at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.Â Arrangements are entrusted to Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. and will be announced in tomorrow's edition.
Frances â€śDollyâ€ť (nee Schuster) Dujmovic, age 76 of Chesterland, Ohio, passed away at the Chardon Health Care Center on April 1, 2011 after an extended illness.Â She was also a cancer survivor.Â
Frances was born on Nov. 23, 1935 to Joseph and Rose (nee Sterbank) Schuster of Ludlow. She was a resident of Ludlow and Kane. She attended Ludlow grade and High School and was a graduate of Kane High School.Â She was a majorette for the Kane Drum and Bugle Corps and a cheerleader for Kane High School.Â
Lindy C. Lydic, 33, of 15 Easton St. Kane, died March 31, 2011 due to injuries received in an automobile accident.
She was born Jan. 26, 1978 in Rochester, NYÂ to John and Beth (Pearce) Cooper, who both survive.
Lindy did her Masters Degree work online and her undergraduate workÂ at NiagaraÂ University.Â She was employed as a Business Education teacher at the Sheffield Area Middle School.Â Lindy was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Renald J. "Ren" Michaud, 80, recently of Kane and formerly of Genesee, died Tuesday morning, March 29, 2011 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born Jan. 27, 1931 in Jamaica, Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Louis P. and Claire I. Tessier Michaud.
Mr. Michaud served in the Transportation Corps in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.Â He later owned and operated Michaud's Country Store in Genesee for many years.
Martha Alice Vantine passed away March 25, 2011 in Weatherford, Texas, one month after celebrating her 95th birthday.Â
She was born in Kanesholm on Feb. 20, 1916 to Edward and Alice Magnuson.Â Martha and her family moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1955 where for 24 years she worked as a purchasing agent for the Veterans Affairs hospital.Â
While in Amarillo, she was an accomplished seamstress who was active in Sweet Adelines and the United Methodist Women at St. Paul UMC.
Charles H. â€śCharlieâ€ť Stauffer, age 86, of Overbrook, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.
He was the beloved husband of Marguerite L. for 63 years; father of Karen (Bob) Clager, Chuck (Carol), Linda (Joe) Paul, Russell and the late Harry; loving grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.Â Charlie was a proud U.S. Marine veteran who served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was a member of the Boilermaker Union, Local #154.Â Â
Frank Trulik, 84, previously of Lamont, died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Aug. 7, 1926, in Lamont, he was a son of the late Martin and Barbara Simun Trulik.
Frank spent most of his life as a farmer and woodworker and was known for his log cabin-style birdhouses.Â He was affectionately referred to as the â€śMayorâ€ť of Lamont and constructed Trulik Springs in 1977, which still bears his name.
He served in the Army during WW II.Â He was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church.
Carla E. Hilty, 78, of 30 Hemlock Ave., died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born April 20, 1932, in Natrona Heights, she was a daughter of the late Victor R. and Ethel Nyquist Hilty.
A graduate of Wilcox High School and Grove City College in 1954, she taught English and German at Kane Area High School for 35 years prior to retirement. She also had attended Penn State.
