The Kane Wolves wrestling team picked up seven forfeits on the way to an easy 63-15 win over Clarion.
Darren Brown got things started for the Wolves with a good win over a tough little wrestler, Riley Gunter 13-2.
Then John Welch found himself in what was again the match of the night. Clarion's Jacob Troutman got a takedown and was able to ride that 2-0 lead to a hard fought victory.
The Kane School Board voted 8-0 Thursday to extend the contract of Dr. Maryann Anderson as superintendent of the Kane Area School District.
The five-year extension runs from next September through Sept. 7, 2017. She is currently in the third year of her original three-year contract.
School Board President Dave Westerburg joined with board members Dick Coleman, Ed Kocjancic Jr., Mark Paup, Harry Steele, Stephanie Eckstrom, Larry Lamping and Gary Ziegler in approving the contract extension.
Board member Ken Kane did not attend the meeting, but reportedly agrees with the contract extension.
Diane L. Jackson, 63, a resident of the Lutheran Home at Kane, passed awayÂ Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born June 23, 1948, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Milan and Virginia McCaskey Ford.
Mrs. Jackson worked for a time at Stackpole.Â She loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them.
Surviving are a sister, Nancy Haight, of Kane; two brothers-in-law, Paul Yarnall of Ludlow and Ronald Royer of Kane; and her nieces and nephews.
