Not many employees enthusiastically say they love their job.
Beth Lenaway, the new director of the Kane Senior Center, is an exception.
âI just love what Iâm doing,â Lenaway said with a tone of vim and vigor. âItâs a very rewarding job.â
Lenaway has replaced Amanda Blankenship at the director of the Kane Senior Center on Fraley Street in Uptown Kane. Blankenship reportedly has returned to college to pursue a degree in nursing.
The Kane Lady Wolvesâ volleyball team held its annual varsity tournament on Saturday in the Wolvesâ Den. The Lady Wolves dominated their half of the bracket in the round robin, sweeping Smethport, Curwensville, and Brockway and splitting with Brockway to earn the top seed going into the playoffs from their bracket.
Ronald H. Davidson, 85, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Corry Manor.
Born April 29, 1927, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Henry and Nora M. Black Davidson.Â
Before his retirement, Mr. Davidson was employed by Allied Van Lines and owned Ronâs Delivery Service.
During World War II, he served in Italy with the U.S. Army in Company C, 349th Infantry.
Thomas E. Cunningham, 86, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the Lutheran Home at Kane
Born April 4, 1926, in Russell City, he was a son of the late Hearl and Ruth Bushley Cunningham. On April 29, 1978, in Sharon, he married Margaret Himes who survives.
Mr. Cunningham was employed by PennDOT, retiring in 1980. He had belonged to the Kane Country Club and was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge #130 and served as a past governor.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
