In a game that Kane football fans will remember for many years, the Kane Wolves rallied to defeat the previously unbeaten Elk County Catholic Crusaders in the Wolves 2012 homecoming game.
The Kane seventh and eighth grade girls basketball team hosted the Eisenhower Knights on Thursday, and sent both teams back to Warren County with a loss. The seventh-graders, under the direction of coach Mary Espin, improved to 3-7 with a 42-12 win in the opener. Coach Kathy Countsâ eighth grade squad boosted their record to 6-3 with a 41-10 victory.
The Kane Community Hospital's Breast Imaging Center has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.
Because October is national âBreast Cancer Awareness Month,â this is a busy time of the year for mammograms at Kane Community Hospital (KCH).
âWhen it comes to screening for breast cancer, mammograms are the âgold standard,ââ Julie Laughner said. âBreast cancer is a treatable disease if detected early by a mammogram.â
This fuzzy little caterpillar may look cute, but the hairs on its body can cause a burning, stinging sensation and rash when touched, so specimens of this kind should be avoided.
Anthony J. Pellegrino, 87, of Warren, died surrounded by his family at his residence, Friday morning, Oct. 5, 2012.
He was born June 19, 1925 in Sheffield, to the late Anthony and Angela Papalia Pellegrino. He has resided in Warren since 1960 and was formerly from Kane. He was a 1943 graduate of Sheffield High School.
