November 27th
Carl Marcel Bergquist of Fairport, N.Y., died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012.
He was employed by the American Can Company for 45 years as a lithographer. He was an Eagle Scout for the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge of Geneva, Mendon Golf Club and member of Local Battle of Bulge WWII. He was called back for the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased by parents Victor and Anna; his wife, Thelma C.; a sister, Norma Bergquist; three cousins, Alan Bergquist, Germain (Sam) Caruso, and Patricia Brown; and his good friends Dan and Gwen Winagle.

Sixteen hunters entered their bucks in the Kane Fish and Game Club's annual Mr. Big Buck Contest held on Monday night.
November 25th
At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the newly opened Untangled Salon.Â
Santa Claus stands and rings bells as he greets wide-eyed children along the route of the Santa Parade held Saturday in Kane. Mrs. Claus and elves accompanied Santa on one of the floats in the parade sponsored by the Kane Chamber of Commerce.
November 23rd
W. James Host, a native of Sheffield who was born at the Kane Community Hospital, was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 17.
JAMES CITY – With just one paved road leading to James City, there is a chance the community could be sealed off in the event of a major accident at the lone entrance.
Because of this possibility, Highland Township Fire Chief Bill Edinger believes the township supervisors should develop an “evacuation plan” for James City.
November 22nd
The state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has issued a permit for the sale of effluent from the Kinzua sewage treatment plant on Route 321 just north of Kane.
JOHNSONBURG – A Highland Township supervisor and sewage treatment plant operator for the James City Sewage Treatment Plant waived his preliminary hearing in District Court 59-3-02 Wednesday on charges that he violated environmental laws in allegedly falsifying environmental reports and discharging some 10 million gallons of raw sewage from the treatment plant into a nearby stream.

Billie Jo Worley, 29, of 130 Greeves St., passed away suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Kane Community Hospital.
Born June 21, 1983, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, she was a daughter of Clifford(Barbara) Gadley and Kathryn Thayer. She was married in New Jersey, to Michael Worley who survives.
Billie Jo, a homemaker, was a member of the Eagles Lodge # 307 in Kane.
