The Kane Wolves wrestling team finished their 2011-2012 regular season with a 14-1 record and won their first Allegheny Mountain League title.
Coach Dave Kiehl enters his fifth season as head coach of the Kane Lady Wolves with the bulk of last year’s team returning. Seven players will be suiting up for their senior season on the hardwood, along with four juniors. The 2011-2012 Lady Wolves finished the season 20-9, losing to WPIAL top seed Vincentian 62-60 in overtime in the opening round of the PIAA playoffs.
Kane boys’ basketball head coach Brian Wymer has four starters returning from last year’s squad. The 2011-2012 Wolves finished the season 2-20 but Wymer is cautiously optimistic about this season.
Stephanie Eckstrom is the new president of the Kane School Board.

Kim J. Johnson, 58, of West Main Street in Ludlow, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 in the Kane Community Hospital.
Born July 10, 1954 in Warren, he was the son of Emil L. and Mildred E. Larson Johnson.
Mr. Johnson worked at Kane Hardwood starting Nov. 11, 2002; prior to that, he worked at Kane Handle from 1974-2002. He attended the Kane Revival Center and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Surviving are his father of Kane; a brother, Ronald E. Johnson of Bradford; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.
