The Kane Lady Wolves found the going tough in the first quarter as a scrappy Brockway team was able to create turnovers and keep Kane from scoring easy buckets but the home team eventually earned a 52-37 win.
Kane held a slim 2-point lead after the first quarter. The second quarter would prove to be much better asÂ Kane was able to break the pressure defense and have a big 18-point quarter and take a 12-point lead into halftime.
A community meeting is planned for Thursday, March 1 on a three-year plan for improvements at Evergreen Park in Kane.
The meeting is slated at 6:30 p.m. at the Kane Area Community Center on Fraley Street.
A group known as the âFriends of Evergreen Parkâ will conduct the public meeting along with members of the Kane Borough Councilâs Parks Committee.
Dick Bly, chairman of the âFriendsâ group and a former Kane borough councilman, said the public would be asked for input on the proposed three-year plan for the park.
RIDGWAY â Elk County Commissioners on Tuesday adopted a resolution Tuesday proclaiming their opposition to two controversial sections of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012.
Officials said Tuesday that the sections in question, Sections 1021 and 1022, "as proposed, in limited circumstances," allows an American citizen to be "detained by our own United States government and by our Armed Forces" and detention "could last without trial until the end of the hostilities currently authorized by the authorization for use of military force."
