Adventures of a wildlife photographer

This is a privately owned camp, deep in the heart of Denali. I had spent the last three days hiking, fishing and photographing one of the most beautiful parks in the world. It was evening, and the rain moved into the area once again, shrouding the beautiful Mt. McKinley with a thick cover of mist and clouds.

First-graders receive trees at Arbor Day forum

April 20, 2012

School students usually return home daily with books and other educational materials.
Imagine the look on the faces of parents Friday when their first-graders in the Kane Elementary School came home with a tree.
In observance of Arbor Day this month, the McKean County Conservation District sponsored the "My Growing Tree" program Friday at the school.
Every first-grade student at the school received their own Eastern Hemlock seedling to take home and plant. The students also receive a "My Growing Tree" chart to compare their growth with the growth of their tree.
