James Stephen Sennett, 89, of Seven Lakes, N.C. passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Jim was born in St. Marys, son of Clifford J. and Catherine F. Sennett. Following graduation from Penn State University, he was employed as Sales Manager for Stackpole Inc. He was an avid golfer, friend to all, a man of integrity and always a gentleman. He was a devoted husband as well as a loving father.
During World War II he served in the Army Aircorp with the 319th Bombardier Squadron and was involved in combat duty in the Mediterranean Theatre.

Rosella F. "Rosie" Marconi

Rosella F. "Rosie" Marconi, 83, formerly of Hemlock Avenue, Kane, died early Saturday evening, May 12, 2012 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Jan. 28, 1929 in Kane, she was the daughter of Leonard and Mary Loretta "Laura" Dalton Fiscus. On May 27, 1950 in Kane, she married James J. Marconi, who survives.
After graduating from Kane Area High School in 1946, Rosie owned and operated the Mary Rose Beauty Shop in Kane. Later, she worked at Houston Electronics, then for Stackpole, both in Kane, where she was a packer and a union steward.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Handbell director retires

Active in church music for more than half a century, Jane Pflieger rang in a new chapter in her career 15 years ago as the first director of the handbell choir at Tabor Lutheran Church in Kane.
She now is retiring from the post.
“It is with mixed emotions that I retire as handbell director at the church,” Pflieger said. “Throughout my music ministry, I have endeavored to serve God.”
Thus ends a 52-year career in church music for the wife of the Rev. David Pflieger of Kane.
