Unfavorably cited in a report by the state Auditor General, Kane School Superintendent Dr. Maryann Anderson is ready and willing to give her side of the story.
According to the âfindingsâ in the report issued last month by state Auditor General Jack Wagner:
The âformer supervisor of special servicesâ for the Millcreek Township School District near Erie âdiverted $91,873 from the districtâs special education program by purchasing gift cards with special education funds and using the gift cards for non-program purposes.â
The Kane Zoning Hearing Board has cleared the way for the sale of the former Chestnut Street Elementary School to Kane Manufacturing.
Acting at a meeting Wednesday, the board approved a "special exception for 'mixed use'" at the former school.
Ed Peterson, chairman of the board, voted in favor of the request along with Vice Chairman Joe Stauffer and board member Todd Klaiber.
Norm Schreckengost and Diane Niklas, two other board members, did not attend the meeting. Mike Woods, listed as an alternate member, also was absent.
Judy M. Reigel, 64, of 40 Delaware Ave. in James City, died Wednesday morning, June 6, 2012 at the Kane Community Hospital.
Born April 27, 1948 in Buckhannon, W.Va., she was the daughter of Egbert T. and Virgie D. Depoy Farnsworth. On April 29, 1967 in James City, she married Robert M. Reigel, who survives.
