The Kane Wolves lost a 52-40 shootout to undefeated Brockway last Friday night at Paul R Miller Stadium. The Rovers took the opening kickoff and marched downfield for an early score. The Wolves offense answered back, but that set the tone for the night—with Brockway going ahead, the Wolves scoring to stay within striking distance. Unfortunately, the Wolves couldn’t keep up with the scoring pace and the Rovers sealed the victory with a touchdown in the final minutes.
Numerous studies have shown that "buying locally" strengthens the economic base for a community.
That's why Kane area residents are being asked to show more support for their own local hospital.
"We really need to stick together and pull together," Gary Rhodes said Thursday. He has worked at Kane Community Hospital (KCH) for 25 years and has been the chief executive officer (CEO) for the past 16 years.
Donations have been rolling in to help cover the cost of repairs at the skate/bike facility at Glenwood Park in Kane.
More than $4,000 has been raised so far for the work at the wooden ramps.Â
Until work is completed and the facility passes inspection by an insurance representative, the borough continues to mark the skate/bike ramps off limits to riders.
Two events to assist the skate/bike park are set for today. Demonstrations and music will be featured at the site from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
