Kane wrestlers rally to defeat Falcons

The Kane Wolves wrestling team dug themselves a little bit of a hole to start out Tuesday night’s match in the Wolves’ Den against the Coudersport Falcons. The visitors jumped out to an early 19-0 lead before a couple of Kane forfeits and a pin by Nate Moore got the home team back on track and propelled them to a 41-31 win over the team from Potter County.

Former Kane police chief Osmer to run for mayor

Vowing he can bring about efficiencies in the police department, former Kane police chief William "Yogi" Osmer confirmed Tuesday that he will run for election as mayor this year.

Janet Louise Duffy, 77, of Oak Street, Warren, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Warren General Hospital.
Mrs. Duffy was born Jan. 8, 1936, in Kane, the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Sandberg Koza. Janet was a 1953 graduate of Kane Area High School. She then went on to work at Bell Telephone Company as a Switchboard Operator. Throughout the years, she was also employed as a teller at PNC Bank and a secretary for American General. For many years, she and her husband, "Bud", were the co-owners of Ideal Bakery.
