Wolves hurt playoff chances with loss to Rovers

The Kane Wolves boys’ varsity basketball team started out hot in Wednesday night’s game against the Brockway Rovers. The Wolves led by as many as eight in the first quarter and 12 in the second before a big third quarter by the Rovers gave the visitors a slim lead going into the fourth quarter in the Wolves’ Den.
Brockway took advantage of a few late Kane turnovers and hit their free throws down the stretch to leave with the hard-fought 72-64 victory.

Red Cross Bloodmobile tops goal in Kane

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile visited Kane on Monday and exceeded its goal.
The blood collection program was held in Bartlett Hall at the First United Methodist Church on Greeves Street. Nurses and phlebotomists from the Red Cross Blood Center in Buffalo conducted the blood drive.
The quota for the day was to collect 31 “full” units of blood in a six-hour period for the Bloodmobile stop.
