The annual four-week âSummer Schoolâ at the Kane Elementary School will end Friday.
The summer program is ending today at the library for the Kane Elementary School and the Kane Middle School.
Beautiful weather greeted over 5,000 people who came to Kane for the Seventh Annual Art in the Wilds juried fine arts show. The crowd converged in Kaneâs Evergreen Park on June 22 and 23 to browse and buy from the creative offerings of 39 juried artists, to visit with friends and enjoy tasty treats from multiple food vendors.Â
Robin Leigh Sluga, 60, of New Port Richey, Fla. died Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. Mary's Home of Erie in Erie.Â
She was born in Kane on July 11, 1953, a daughter of the late Charlie and Ruth Sluga of Mt. Jewett.
I am often asked the question at art shows or when Iâm speaking on photography, if Iâm ever worried about being attacked by the wild animals I photograph. I tend to just laugh it off with a joke or tell the audience that has never even occurred to me when Iâve been out in the wild. After all, Iâm just a photographer, Iâm invincible. This train of thought changed dramatically for me on the afternoon of July 9, 2013.
Parents from each of the fall sports attended Tuesday nightâs meeting held by Kane Area School Districtâs Certified Athletic Trainer, Krystal Nuhfer. Nuhfer briefly went over required paperwork with the parents and guardians in attendance before moving on to discuss a few medical issues.
The Kane Area School District has scheduled a "Parent Informational Meeting" for next Tuesday, Aug. 6.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Kane Middle School auditorium.
Employees of Sekula Sign Corporation rehang the Goodwill Store sign on Tuesday afternoon. A crane was used to hang the sign in place before the workers secured it. The building was painted last week by John Carlson David Kibbie and Paul Kibbie.
Margaret L. Carlson, 84, formerly of 1319 East Main St., passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Palliative Care Hospice in Akron, N.Y. Friends are invited to attend graveside services at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 in Lebanon Cemetery in Kanesholm. An administrative decision to lengthen the school day for all Kane students has spawned parental questions and concerns.
