Harold Hallberg has abruptly resigned as a member of the Kane Borough Council.
Members of a group of Kane residents called â€śConcerned Parents of KASDâ€ť met on Tuesday evening to discuss the groupâ€™s strategy for the Thursday night Kane Area School Board meeting.
Kane should form its own Blight Task Force to create a plan of action to tackle the growing problem with dilapidated buildings in the borough.
SMETHPORT â€“ The McKean County Board of Commissioners voted 3-0 Tuesday to renew an agreement for the 911 emergency call center.
Friends and family of John H. McNeil are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kane Revival Center, 401 Greeves St., with the Rev. Leonard Eastman, pastor, officiating. Refreshments will be served at the Kane Senior Center following the service. Mr. McNeil passed away July 21, 2013. The Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
Carl W. Cook, 80, of 1102 Horner Rd., Wilcox, died Friday morning, Aug. 9, 2013 at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys following a brief illness.
He was born July 7, 1933 in Hazel Hurst, son of the late Carl R. and Lillian Dippo Cook.
He married Beverly Marlene Johnson on Nov. 20, 1954 in the Wilcox Presbyterian Church, and she survives.
Formerly of James City, he resided in Wilcox since 1958. He graduated from Kane High School and was a member of the Wilcox Presbyterian Church and Wilcox Sportsmen's Club.
