Elkers outlast Wolves in double overtime

The Kane Wolves boys’ soccer team led for most of the game but the visiting Ridgway Elkers tied the game up late in regulation and found the back of the net with two minutes left in the second overtime period to escape Kane with the 3-2 win.

Lady Dutch soccer shuts out Kane 3-0

The St. Marys Area Lady Dutch soccer team got back into the win column on Monday afternoon by shutting out the Kane Lady Wolves 3-0 in a match played at the SMAHS soccer field.

William Blankenship, 79, of 11 1/2 Main St., Ludlow, died Monday afternoon, Sept. 16, 2013, at the Warren General Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc.

Christine Ann Slewinski Blackall

Christine Ann Slewinski Blackall, 44, formerly of Kane and Greensburg, died unexpectedly on Aug. 23, 2013 in Tavares, Fla.
Born July 9, 1969 in Camp Lejeune, N.C., she was the daughter of Kathy G. (Slewinski) Muisiner and John P. Slewinski. After graduating from Kane Area High School in 1987, she was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991 from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, and in 2002, married Darryl L. Blackall, who survives.
