First-year Kane coach Josh Lindemuth was hoping the Wolves could manage a sweep at home this week after defeating Brockway on Wednesday and Curwensville on Thursday. The Wolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Port Allegany Gators answered with four runs in the top of the second and outlasted the home team 11-7 at Pat Santilli Field on Friday.
Kane area businesses have been advised to âmap out a planâ to draw more tourists and visitors to their stores.

Shirley Mae Bradybaugh Chittester, 83, of 1152 Lime Rd., Townsend, Ga. passed away on April 25, 2013.
She was born in Kane on Aug. 1, 1929, daughter of the late Harry and Pearl (Quick) Bradybaugh. In February of 1950 she married Donald E. Chittester who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Chittester had worked at the Shirt Factory and Houston Electronics and was the manager of the Arlington Hotel in Kane.

The Kane Wolves won their second straight game on Thursday night, avenging an early season loss to the Curwensville Golden Tide. The Wolves jumped out to a 3-0 lead on their way to the 9-5 victory over the Tide.
The Curwensville Golden Tide avenged an earlier season loss to the Kane Lady Wolves by defeating them 11-0 on Kaneâs home field on Thursday. The Lady Wolves continued to struggle at the plate, registering only two hits against the Tideâs Taylor Shope.
A crowd estimated at more than 75 attended a "Meet the Candidates" forum Thursday evening at the Kane Area Community Center.
A total of 22 candidates in the May 21 primary election spoke at the 90-minute program.Â
May 1st
The Elk County Catholic Crusaders jumped out to an 8-0 lead after three innings and went on to post an 11-0 win over the Kane Lady Wolves on Wednesday at Kaneâs Szymanski Field.
The Kane Wolves baseball team waited more than a month to play their first game at Pat Santilli field. The Wolves gave the home fans something to smile about, winning their first game of the year, defeating the Brockway Rovers by a score of 14-13 in eight innings.
On Thursday, April 25, during KCH's annual volunteer luncheon, Richard "Dick" Coleman was recognized for his exceptional service and run of more than 10,000 volunteer hours over two decades. He served primarily as escort and courier but performed many roles throughout his years of service.
