March 26th
Unpublished reports on Tuesday indicated that a body was found at Sandy Beach Recreational Park in Ridgway Township. Later, multiple State Police vehicles were witnessed at the corner of First and Spruce Streets in Johnsonburg. A press conference is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. tonight in Johnsonburg at the municipal offices.
March 25th
HARRISBURG – Ten wrestlers from the Kane youth wrestling program earned the right to participate in the 51st Annual Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Championship Tournament last Friday and Saturday in Harrisburg. Aiden Hulings was the top finisher for the Kane contingent, competing in the 11 and 12 age division, 100-pound weight class.
No one was injured late Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on Route 6 at Burning Well Road, about four miles east of Kane in Wetmore Township.
Victor Daniel DiMaria passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013.
He was a resident of State College at the time of his passing.
He was the beloved son of Vincent III and Beth DiMaria; loving brother of Carolyn DiMaria Le and her husband Jonathan; and cherished grandson of Maxine and the late Vincent DiMaria and Madalyn and the late James Wallingford.
March 24th
Teddy L. Nystrom, 77, of 382 Spring St., East Kane, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born Feb. 25, 1936, in Wetmore, he was a son of the late William and Blanche Swanson Nystrom. On June 25, 1960, in Johnsonburg, he married Patricia Baum who survives.
Ted was employed for over thirty years by the Kane Gas Company. He was a member of the VFW Post 6347 in Mt. Jewett and was an avid Tony Stewart fan. From 1955 to 1957 he served with the U.S. Army in Germany.

March 22nd
HERSHEY – Johnsonburg boys basketball's season did not end as sweet as the Rams would have hoped for.
But in the end, Johnsonburg made the District 12 champion Vaux Cougars work to earn their gold medals.
Vaux defeated Johnsonburg 83-63 in the PIAA Class A boys basketball championship game Friday afternoon at Giant Center.

Grace Iva Oddy, 63, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at her residence in Ludlow.
Born May 20, 1949, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Alma Belle Houpt Graeser. On Jan. 30, 1969, in Philadelphia, she married Richard Oddy who survives.
Mrs. Oddy was a member of the Olivet Covenant Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia.
George Lewis Hulings, Jr., 74, of James City, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Aug. 25, 1938, in James City, he was a son of the late George and Evelyn Confer Hulings. On Oct. 10, 1959, at the Church of God in James City, he married Barbara Bliss who survives.
George had been employed by Stackpole Carbon Co. in Kane and served in the National Guard.
He was baptized in faith at the First Baptist Church in Kane. As favorite pastimes, he enjoyed gardening and long walks in the woods with his faithful Yorkie, Sweetie Pie.
