Kane residents Chris and Randy Haight finished first among 82 teams at the District Eagles Pool Tournament held at the Brookville Eagles Club.

That's the inspiring comment from the Rev. Jeanne Beers of Ludlow after she miraculously escaped serious injury in a spectacular traffic accident Thursday morning on Route 6 near her home.
Frances "Dolly" Imbrogno, 92, formerly of 113 Oak St., passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Lutheran Home at Kane where she was a resident.
Born Feb. 19, 1921, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Mary Nicolazzo Cappello. On Aug. 24, 1940, in Kane, she married Joseph Imbrogno who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Imbrogno, a homemaker, was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church and belonged to the former Altar Rosary Society. She also was a member of the AARP.

This week, Kane High School and Smethport Elementary and High Schools released brook trout fingerling that they have been raising as part of Pennsylvania Trout In the Classroom program. The McKean County Conservation District partnered with the schools to coordinate this event and helped release the fingerlings in Twomile Run at Wildcat Park. This is the end of a yearlong adventure for the students, who have been raising the trout from eggs as part of the TIC program. The students released the fish and also learned about aquatic invasive species, fly casting, and in-stream habitat.
JOHNSONBURG – On Wednesday, police released further details of their investigation into the death of an 18-year-old Johnsonburg woman whose body was found Tuesday in a park on the outskirts of Ridgway.
The superintendent of the Kane Area School District is contemplating a possible appeal in her "whistleblower" federal lawsuit.
Alyssa Jean Forsyth, 18, of German Settlement Road, Ridgway, passed away March 26, 2013.Â
Born Dec. 10, 1994, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Susan Compton Trumbull and the late John Edward Forsyth.
Alyssa was employed at Arete in Daguscahonda. She loved spending time with her nephew William Trumbull and her niece Sierra Trumbull, both of Las Vegas, Nev., and her little cousin Chloe Hepfner of Port Allegany.
Margaret L. Carlson, 84, formerly of 1319 E. Main St., Bradford, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Hospice and Pallative Care Center in Cheektowaga, N.Y.
Born June 23, 1928, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Horrace J. and Anna M. (Becker) Washburn.
On May 3, 1947, in Bradford she married Curtis Carlson who died Feb. 2, 2012.

Team "Aftershock" competed in the N.Y. State Moose Association 3-on-3 "March Madness" basketball tournament held at the Lakewood YMCA on Saturday - March 23.
JOHNSONBURG – A Johnsonburg man has been charged with first degree murder and related offenses in the death of a young woman whose body was found by police Tuesday morning at an undisclosed site in Ridgway Township.
