The Kane Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams improved their records to 2-0 with wins over Elk County Catholic Tuesday night. The eighth grade team struggled early, losing the first match of the evening 25-18, but soon got their footing and won the final three matches of the evening with scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-17.
Seeing is believing.
Claiming to have seen "Bigfoot" six times in the past three years, Jeff Anderson of Kane is convinced the mysterious ape-like creature exists in the Allegheny National Forest (ANF).
John Stiles, 94, of 13 Blaisdall Ave., Bradford, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born in Kane, on March 26, 1918, he was a son of the late Ray and Carrie (Foulkrod) Stiles.
On June 26, 1948 in East Kane, he married Florence E. (Rutledge) Stiles, who died on Feb. 21, 2011.

The Annual Soup and Pie Lunch at the Friends' Memorial Public Library had a huge turnout. Volunteers were serving pies and there were plenty of homemade baked goods for the annual Bake Sale.
February 25th
The Kane Cheerleading Club attended Galaxy's Winter Blast Competition at the Jamestown Community College Physical Education Complex in Jamestown, N.Y. and came home as the Scholastic Grand Champions. On their way to the overall competition win, they placed first in the Non-Tumble Division as well as placing first in the Varsity Tumble Division.

CLARION — Pennsylvania State Police have charged a 29-year-old man with the alleged murder of a 19-year-old Brookville woman.
February 24th
CLARION – Two Kane Wolves wrestlers won district titles on Saturday at Clarion University while two teammates took third place to earn a spot in the Northwest Regional Tournament.
Every civic organization has someone who tirelessly works behind the scene without a lot of fanfare.
John Mehalko is that “go-to guy†at the Kane Senior Center.
To recognize Mehalko for his dedicated service, the Senior Center has selected him as its “Volunteer-of-the-Year.â€
February 22nd
CLARION – The Kane Lady Wolves defeated Redbank Valley on Friday night at Clarion High School in the District 9 AA semifinals by a score of 53-39. The Lady Wolves overcame the loss of leading scorer and rebounder, Kaila Jamerson, who went down with a knee injury just 28 seconds into the game.
