Bill Weborg, born Sept. 16, 1948 in Kane, died Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Among Bill Weborg’s many contributions to local architecture are the Erie Cruise Boat Terminal and Lakeshore Country Club, two designs for which he received national recognition from the American Institute of Architects.

Project Graduation 2014 organizers looking for volunteers

There will be a meeting for volunteers interested in helping with this year’s Kane Project Graduation on Wednesday, April 2 at the Kane Area High School. Organizers Linda Hearst, Robynn Boyer and Kelly Brinkley are looking for people willing to help set up, chaperone, clean up or collect door prizes.

Kane girls excel on track in Altoona season opener

The Kane girls’ track and field team made their annual trip south to Saturday’s Altoona Igloo Invitational. The Kane teams were scheduled to open their season on Tuesday, but the home meet against Northern Potter was postponed until this week, making Saturday the first outdoor competition of the year.

The Kane boys’ track team started off the 2014 well with some solid performances at Saturday’s Altoona Igloo Invitational. The team was led on the track by Chris Hunt, Nate Moore, Bailey Colson, Hunter Yasurek and Chris Udovich, according to coach Tom Cecchetti. All four Kane relay teams placed in the invitational.

Kane athletes earn D9sports.com awards

CLARION – Kane's Jeff Kocjancic and Camryn Cummings have been recognized as part of the All American Awards and Engraving/D9sports.com All-District 9 boys and girls basketball awards and teams.
Kocjancic was named third team with an average of 15 points-per-game.
Cummings was named co-rookie of the year along with Brookville's Hali Olson.
