Kane boys track defeats Johnsonburg in Wolves final home dual

The Kane boys’ track and field team rolled to a 115-30 win over the Johnsonburg Rams on Tuesday on a chilly, windy afternoon in Kane. The Wolves won 15 of 18 events on the afternoon, including all three relays uncontested to remain undefeated in dual meets.

Johnsonburg girls defeat Kane track team 89-50

The visiting Johnsonburg girls track and field team won 12 of 17 events on their way to posting an 89-50 win over the Kane girls on a windy Tuesday afternoon.

Six defendants waived their preliminary hearings Monday afternoon on criminal charges in Kane District Court.
The cases now proceed to McKean County Court.

Leichtenberger sets RIT save record

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Tyler Leichtenberger of Warren set the Rochester Institute of Technology school record for saves this weekend. The senior, who is the son of Tricia Leichtenberger of Warren and Carl Leichtenberger of Pittsfield, is the grandson of Jim and Dore Mague of Kane and Carl and Barb Leichtenberger of Barnes.

Search begins

Led by the Easter Bunny, children and their parents begin the search for treats Saturday at the annual Kane Easter Egg Hunt. A Kane fire truck siren signaled the start of the hunt on a chilly morning with temperatures in the low 40s. This is the scene at the former Chestnut Street Elementary School where pre-school children and kindergarten students searched for treats. Older children looked for treats across the street in Evergreen Park. The K-Club of Kane sponsors the Egg Hunt with donations from the Kane Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the VFW Auxiliary.
