ST. MARYS â€“ On Sunday the Dynamic Dance Competition Company (DDCC) is hosting a showcase featuring their 2014 season routines. There is free admission to the event being held at Elk County Catholic High School with a 2 p.m. curtain call.

JOHNSONBURG â€“ The Johnsonburg Ramettes overmatched a young Kane Lady Wolves squad Wednesday afternoon in a 12-2 five-inning game at Knothole in Johnsonburg.
The Ramettes, comprised of student athletes from both Ridgway and Johnsonburg in the first year of a cooperative sports agreement, tallied 12 runs on 10 hits in the game.

Cole Peterson starred on the mound for the Rams as he tossed the first five innings. He allowed three hits and one unearned run. He walked one and struck out 11. Peterson was also 1 for 1 with a walk and reached base twice when he was hit by a pitch.
Under a long-standing agreement, Wetmore Township contributes $18,000 a year for fire protection by the Kane Volunteer Fire Department.
The Kane girlsâ€™ track and field waited an extra week to open their home track season but it was worth the wait as the Lady Wolves rolled over Northern Potter by a 106-39 score. Kayla Kerner was a quadruple winner for Kane and was backed up by triple winners Morgan Nicholson and Camryn Cummings.
The Kane boysâ€™ track and field team hosted the Northern Potter Panthers on Tuesday, a week after the original meet was postponed. The Wolves lost the first event of the afternoon, the 3200-meter relay, but won the other 17 events on their way to a 130-19 win.
The Kane School District hopes to soon collect on a major "I Owe You" from the state Department of Education.

Bill Weborg, born Sept. 16, 1948 in Kane, died Saturday, March 29, 2014.
Among Bill Weborgâ€™s many contributions to local architecture are the Erie Cruise Boat Terminal and Lakeshore Country Club, two designs for which he received national recognition from the American Institute of Architects.
