Adventures of a Wildlife Photographer - "Cardinals"

November 11, 2013

I often talk about Blue Jays and how I like them. There are many people that can’t stand Blue Jays and I can understand that. They are big, loud, and can be rather intimidating. I still think that they are a beautiful bird with a bad rap, and deserve another look. Although I like the Jays, they often show up at my feeder when I’m trying to photograph my “real” favorite bird, the Cardinal.

November 9, 2013

The Kane Wolves improved to 11-0 but more importantly earned a spot in next weekend’s District 9 AA finals with a hard fought 26-12 win over Brookville on Friday. Playing on a sloppy field at Kane’s Paul R Miller Stadium, the Wolves put together a workman like effort to defeat the Raiders, who entered the game with a 6-4 record.
The Wolves’ defense started out hot, forcing the Raiders to punt after three plays, including a tackle for a loss on second down by Evan DeLong on District 9’s second leading rusher Zach Vroman.

Monday was a good day for Muncy man

November 8, 2013

QUEHANNA – Standing in the parking lot at the Pennsylvania Game Commission's elk check station in Quehanna on Monday afternoon, the words on Muncy resident Jeff Trought's Duck Dynasty-themed T-shirt perfectly described how he was feeling: "Happy, happy, happy."
Hunting in Elk Hunt Zone 4, the majority of which is located in Cameron County, and guided by Cody Ball of Hicks Run Outfitters, Trought had harvested an impressive looking 8x8 bull elk earlier that morning.
