Driver in Ludlow accident could be fined $594

LUDLOW –- The driver of a car that flipped on its roof along Route 6 near Ludlow on Christmas Eve faces fines of $594. An 18-year-old St. Marys residence was not injured in the accident about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday at Route 6 and Wildcat Road near Ludlow.

Wolves wrestlers go 4-1 in Warren Duals

The Kane Wolves wrestling team took on five District 10 teams at Friday’s Warren Duals and finished the day with a 4-1 record. Coach Mike Swartwood’s team began their day with AAA Titusville and handed the Rockets a 54-23 loss.

Margaret J. Fox, 76, of 77 West Main St., Ludlow, died late Thursday afternoon, Dec. 26, 2013 at the home of her son in Kane.
Born May 12, 1937 in Potter County, she was the daughter of Lloyd L. and Luella Finlaw Irwin. On Sept. 24, 1960 in Kane, she married James H. Fox, who died in 2005.
Margaret had worked at Stackpole Corp. in Kane and had owned the Horseshoe Deli in Ludlow for several years.

Lady Wolves lose to Clarion in 1st round EQT Classic Game

ST. MARYS – The Kane Lady Wolves kicked off the 2013 EQT Classic in St Marys against a tough Clarion team on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Bobcats jumped out to a 10-point lead after one quarter and went on to post a 65-53 win over the young Lady Wolves. Fifty of Clarion’s 65 points came from senior forward Kyla Miles and junior guard Maci Thornton.

ST. MARYS – The Kane Wolves played three close quarters with the Clarion Bobcats in Thursday’s opening round game of the EQT Classic, but a poor second quarter for the Wolves was the difference in Clarion’s 49-36 win.

Plaque honors rescuers at 1968 plane crash

It's been 45 years since a twin-engine Allegheny Airlines plane crashed while coming in for a landing at the Bradford Regional Airport in Lafayette Township.
The Christmas Eve crash in 1968 killed 20 passengers.
Miraculously, 27 survived.

Geise publishes photography book featuring Pennsylvania elk

Pennsylvania's elk herd draws thousands of visitors to the area each year, many of whom come bearing their cameras in hopes of leaving with photographs of the creatures to document their time in Elk Country. Now those who may not have had much luck getting their own photos can instead take home a new book featuring a variety of photos of the animals.
