The Kane Cheer Club went to Keystone on Saturday and came home in second place in small varsity and also won the Sportsmanship Award from the entire afternoon session. "It was good to finally get the beginning and end of our routine," said coach Chris Niklaus.

ST. MARYS â The St. Marys City Police Department reports that charges have been filed against a female juvenile who claimed to be the victim of a kidnapping attempt outside St. Marys Area High School on Wednesday night.
The Kane Lady Wolves hosted Brockway on Friday night and rolled to a 49-22 victory over the Lady Rovers. Kane jumped out to a 15-0 lead and led by 26 midway through the second quarter on their way to the teamâs 12th win of the season.
A "Welcome To Kane" sign-- similar to the one shown in this photo-- has been stolen from a site along Route 321 north of Kane. The Kane Borough Police Department is asking persons with information to contact police. The hand-carved sign is valued at $2,500. The Kane Chamber of Commerce installed the signs along highway entrances to the borough.
The Kane seventh grade boys basketball team had a setback against St. Marys Public by a score of 37-24. Getting into the score column for the Wolves were the following players: Wes Cleer 7, Reed Williams 5, Ange Costanzo 4, Ray Maze 3, JT Stewart 3, and Garret Walters with 2 points. James Flemming, Tyler Pacheco, and Joseph Stanko had timely rebounds and efficient defense.
The Kane Borough Council earlier this week voted 7-0 to adopt a resolution that supports an "initiative' to make Route 6 a "scenic byway."
Council President Howard Kane joined with Councilwomen Janet Bard and Holly Harris and Councilmen Harold Hallberg, John Gentilman, Dennis Drost and Bill Tunall to endorse the resolution.
Mary Zampogna of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on Jan. 15, 2013, following complications from a lengthy battle with dementia.
Mary was born Nov. 29, 1921, in Ludlow, the daughter of Paul and Pearl Straneva. She married Harry J. Zampogna and they moved to San Antonio and later parted ways.
The Kane Lady Wolves used a balanced scoring attack and some tenacious defense to earn a 57-41 win over Brookville on Wednesday night in the Wolvesâ Den.
Kaneâs Joe Bizzak bowled a perfect game on Monday night at the Kane Elks Club.
Bizzak bowls for Crescent Beer in the Elks American League. He opened the night with a 198 game, rolled a 202 game in his second game of the night, and capped off the evening with the 300, to reach a 700 series on the nose.
