FOX TWP. â A bridge on a private driveway across from Blooms Road in Fox Township collapsed Monday afternoon under the weight of a logging truck crossing over Little Toby Creek.
The Kane softball team lost both ends of a doubleheader to the Curwensville Golden Tide on Monday at Flickerwood Field. The Lady Wolves, playing in their first game in two weeks and their first home contests since April 10, dropped the first game 10-0 in six innings and lost to the Lady Tide 11-1 in the nightcap, also in six innings.
The Kane High School gymnasium was transformed into a classic dance club for the annual prom Saturday night.

ST. MARYS â U.S. Rep. Glenn âG.T.â Thompson (R-Pa. 5) visited the U.S. Army Reserve Center in St. Marys Saturday morning both to express appreciation to service members and to discuss the recent proposal of the Obama administration to downsize the military.
The Kane girlsâ track and field team traveled to Altoonaâs Mansion Park on Friday evening to take part in the West Central Coaches Track Championship meet. The Lady Wolves finished in sixth place out of the 30 competing AA schools with 41 points. The Johnsonburg girls finished in first place in AA.
The Kane boysâ track and field team placed in 11 of 18 events at Fridayâs West Central Coaches Track and Field Championship. The Wolves finished in third place out of 37 AA teams at the meet, which took place Friday evening at Altoonaâs Mansion Park.
"Worship Through the Arts" was the theme of the program Friday for Kane Church Women United.
Former Kane Wolvesâ head football coach Dick Smith will become the third inductee to the Kane All-Sports Booster Clubâs Hall of Fame later this month, the club announced recently.
