HAZEL HURST – The long-awaited Lantz Corners sewer project already is running behind a timetable announced last fall.
Elaine Surma, senior supervisory special agent for the state attorney general's Bureau of Narcotic Investigation and Drug Control, conducted the program in a live video conference.

Paving is planned at six sites in Kane this summer.
The Kane Borough Council acted at its meeting earlier this month to approve a low bid of $95,376 from IA Construction of Franklin for the paving project.

PORT ALLEGANY – The Kane Lady Wolves upped their record to 3-0 as they traveled to Port Allegany and defeated the Gators 7-5. Kyla Hoag got her third win, giving up nine hits, striking out four, and walking one. The Wolves scored their runs on five hits and nine walks.
It had been a very rewarding Monday morning for Adam Smelko of Kane.
Keith L. Hadfield, 50, of 113 Welsh St., Kane, passed away suddenly on Sunday (April 14, 2013) at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born Nov. 8, 1962, in Kane, he was a son of Keith Hadfield and Marilyn Geer Hadfield. On Dec. 14, 1990, in Kane, he married Lanette Paul who survives.
Keith was employed at Graftech and prior to that had worked for the Local 603 and Osram-Sylvania. He had served in the U.S. Marines, attaining the rank of Corporal.

SMETHPORT – The McKean County Board of Commissioners has agreed to become a “pass-through” agency for a proposed grant for the Pennsylvania Wilds Planning Team.
