The Kane Boys Golf Team fell to 0 -3 on the season as they were defeated by the Ridgway Elkers. The Elkers Jordan Lundin took home Medalist Honors with a round of 41. Leading the way for Kane was Ryan Greto with a 46. He was followed by Dan Park 49, Austin Woolcock and Koden Thompson 51 and John Bedford 56. Rounding out the scoring for the Wolves was Brendan Sharer with a 61 and Austin Hoag 63. The boys' next match is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 8 when they host Johnsonburg. Match time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Mary D. Keisling, age 61, of Carnegie, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011. Beloved wife of Christopher H. Keisling; loving mother of Lisa Swartwood, Lauri Robinson, Tami Baum, Gina Santavicca, and Casey Keisling; sister of Karen Simons, Bruce Sherwood, Brenda Vaughn, and Charles Sherwood; also survived by six grandchildren, Michael Sivak, Christina Baum, Amanda Zampogna, Cody Baum, Emily Bernhard and Matthew Dean; and three great-grandchildren, Mya Berry, Choloe Baum and Serenity Markert.
June E. Boschert, 87, of 104 Whiterock Ave., died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Jan. 20, 1924, in Ridgway, she was a daughter of James L. and Rhoda C. Johnson Bryington. On Oct. 31, 1953, in Johnsonburg, she married Norman S. Boschert who survives.
Mrs. Boschert attended Emmanuel Mission Covenant Church where she also was a member of the Golden Links.
She had worked at Stackpole in both Johnsonburg and Kane.
George E. Petrisek, 75, of Genesee, formerly of Port Allegany, died unexpectedly at home on Aug. 5, 2011.Â A celebration of George's life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 in the VFW Hall, 4743 Route 155, Port Allegany. Doris J. Williams, 80, a resident of Golden Living-Kinzua, Warren, died there Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 after an extended illness.
She was born March 31, 1931 in Wellsville, N.Y. to the late Walter P. and Ruth Carr Hand. She has resided in Kane for the past 10 years. Doris loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed country music, NASCAR and having friends and family visit her.
Helen Irene Leary, 74, of Petersburg, passed away on Aug. 24, 2011.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Fedak Punk, and also preceded in death by three brothers, William, Leo, and Johnny Punk; and four sisters, Ginka Punk, Mary Vannatter, Aggie Johnson, and Millie Vanderneck.
David F. Ferry, 91, formerly of 104 Janeway St., Kane, died Thursday afternoon, Aug. 25, 2011 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Feb. 18, 1920 in Gilfoyle, Forest County, he was the son of John and Clara Greeley Ferry. On Sept. 10, 1942 in Jamestown, N.Y., he married Fern I. Anderson, who died in 1996.
Mr. Ferry served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 112th Infantry as a rifleman and cook, and received the Purple Heart for wounds received in The Battle of the Bulge, plus several other medals.

Emily Pearl Traub, 88, formerly of Pleasant Drive, Warren, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011 at the Warren Manor.Â
Bryan Timothy Hannon, 21, of 646 South Kendall Ave., passed away Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born March 28, 1990, in Bradford, he was a son of Robert J. and Tammie (Hedlund) Hannon.
