The Kane Lady Wolves trailed DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals 2-0 going into the bottom of the seventh inning on Wednesday at Szymanski Field. The Lady Wolves rallied to tie it up in the bottom of the seventh and wound up winning in the bottom of the eighth to improve their record to 10-4 on the season.

Supervisors Steve Dyne, Bill Ryding and Elaine Bodistow agreed Tuesday to permit Casella Waste Management to place four "zero-sort" recycling bins at the rear of the township building on Spring Street in East Kane.
The Kane boysâ€™ track and field team hosted Johnsonburg and Elk County Catholic on Tuesday afternoon on a cloudy, warm day. The Wolves finished on top, finishing the day with 101 points. Johnsonburg ended up with 46 points, while ECC finished with 42.
The Kane Lady Wolves ended a two-game slide on Monday in a big way, defeating the Sheffield Lady Wolverines by a score of 19-3 in three innings. The Lady Wolves had a bad taste in their mouths after two lopsided losses to Elk County Catholic and Curwensville last week.

Mary Rose Maletto, age 96, 203 East Ave., Johnsonburg, died Sunday evening, May 5, 2013, at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
She was born March 26, 1916, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Pasquale Nocito and Mariannina Perrone Nocito Condina.
On June 17, 1939, in Holy Rosary Church, she married Alfred J. Maletto Jr. who preceded her in death on June 7, 2010.
ALTOONA â€“ The Kane Lady Wolves Track team came through with some exceptional performances on the way to winning the team title of the Altoona West Central Coaches Track and Field Invitational on Friday. The Lady Wolves finished at the top of 43 AA teams from throughout the state with 73 points. The rest of the top five were Forest Hills (71), Tyrone (60), Elk County Catholic (52) and Johnsonburg (48).
