Work on new store begins

July 8, 2015

Work is underway to construct a Country Fair convenience store and fueling station in Kane. The work site on Biddle Street (Route 6) is between Welsh and Hacker streets and is adjacent to the Northwest Savings Bank drive-through window. Plans calls for the United Refinery store to open this fall.

Flood watch in effect for McKean County

Widespread heavy to record daily rainfall amounts are expected to fall Saturday and into Saturday night.
Unusually strong low pressure at the surface and aloft will move slowly northeast from the Ohio Valley through the middle Atlantic region throughout the weekend.
Widespread heavy rain will fall and the risk for flooding, especially on smaller streams and creeks, will be high.
A flood watch remains in effect through late Saturday night. Elk and McKean counties are listed among the extensive list of affected counties.
