Kane area children will be dressed in various costumes Monday as they go door-to-door during Halloween “Trick or Treat†hours.
According to borough and school officials, a Halloween parade will not be held in Kane for the first time in many years.
Halloween “Trick or Treat†hours in Kane, Wetmore Township, Hamlin Township and Highland Township are from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Residents are asked to turn on their porch lights.
The general election Tuesday, Nov. 8 features several local races.
In McKean County, there is a four-way race for three seats on the Board of Commissioners.
The incumbents who are seeking re-election include Joe DeMott of Port Allegany, Al Pingie of Bradford Township and Judy Church of Smethport.
DeMott, who is chairman of the board, and Pingie are Republicans. Church is a Democrat.
The challenger is Cliff Lane of Annin Township, a Democrat and former county commissioner.
