Kane students collect items for deployed soldiers

As a project to coincide with Veterans Day on Friday, the National Honor Society at Kane Area High School is collecting items for local soldiers deployed overseas.
The students are accepting items during homeroom period. Students who donate an items will have a chance to win a "mystery prize."
Community members also are encouraged to donate. Collection boxes have been placed in the lobby at the elementary, middle and high schools. Parents are asked to bring items with them to the schools when they attend conferences with teachers today and Friday.

Kane Streets Department closes skate/bike park

Wearing T-shirts, Kane teens have taken advantage of recent spring-like weather to ride skateboards and bicycles on the series of ramps at Glenwood Park along Hacker Street.
The season is over-- indefinitely.
The Kane Borough Streets Department has closed the skate/bike facility. Yellow police tape has been strung around the perimeter to remind riders that the facility is closed. No trespassing signs have been posted..
