The Kane VFW Post 1132 held its annual Veterans Day Dinner Saturday, Nov. 12.
After social hour members and guests sat down to a fine dinner put on by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Commander Don Chittester opened the service with a prayer. He was followed by Adjutant Bert Geibel who gave an overview of the services that our local VFW does offer to the community.
The annual Veterans' Day Program was held Sunday morning at Kane's First United Methodist Church.
Organizer Colleen Lundeen, along with Associate Pastor Jay Tennies and Eagle Scout Candidate Jon Luke Gelsick helped the event become one of the biggest yet. This year's program honored all U.S. Veterans, but especially focused on those who served during World War II.
