Several criminal cases have been filed in the office of Kane District Court Judge Dave Engman.
Information on the following cases is from court documents:
*Travis C. Davidson, 29, of 2 Curtis Road Ext., Ludlow, is charged with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.
Kane Police Officer Bill Nichols filed the charges after stopping a 2004 black Ford Ranger pickup truck driven by the defendant on Welsh Street in Kane.
A test at Kane Community Hospital determined that Davidson’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was .229 percent, more than double the legal limit.
Makayla Anderson is the new Miss Kane High.
The Junior Class at Kane Area High School selected Anderson during an assembly Wednesday at the school auditorium.
Christina "Tina" Moore is the first runner-up in the annual pageant.
As Miss Kane High, Anderson will represent the community in the Miss McKean County queen competition held at the county fair. The county queen takes part in state competition.
Anderson also will participate in many summer festivals and events along with girls from Bradford, Smethport, Port Allegany and Otto-Eldred schools.
For the past four years, hundreds of property owners in the Kane Area School District have received a discount on their annual school tax bill.
The tax relief is made possible, in part, through the allocation of state gaming revenue from casinos under state "Act 1" of a special state legislative session in 2006.
To qualify for a discount, property owners are required to file a one-time application for a Homestead or Farmstead exclusion.
