RIDGWAY â Elk County Commissioners on Tuesday adopted a resolution Tuesday proclaiming their opposition to two controversial sections of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012.
Officials said Tuesday that the sections in question, Sections 1021 and 1022, "as proposed, in limited circumstances," allows an American citizen to be "detained by our own United States government and by our Armed Forces" and detention "could last without trial until the end of the hostilities currently authorized by the authorization for use of military force."
