JOHNSONBURG – Perry Swanson of Kane has been named as the 2012 Logger-of-the-Year.
He received the award Tuesday evening at the 44th annual Loggers and Saw-millers Safety Meeting at the Johnsonburg Fire Hall. More than 100 attended the two-hour program sponsored by the Kane-based Allegheny Hardwood Utilization Group (AHUG).
"I'm extremely proud and very honored to receive the award," Swanson said. "I've always wanted to be a logger. Luckily, my dream came true."
