Kane sewer board considers replacement of line

May 22, 2012

Unplugging the same clogged sewer line has become a twice-a-week routine for the Kane borough Streets Department.
Now the Kane Borough Sewer Authority is considering the replacement of a section of this line that serves the Kane Community Hospital and other customers.
Mike Beane, foreman of the Streets Department, gave a report Monday at the authority meeting at the borough building. He said between 180 feet and 200 feet of the line on Park Avenue Extension needs to be replaced. He said at least 40 feet of the eight-inch tile pipe is “packed with roots” from nearby trees.
