A 14-year-old boy was injured Tuesday evening when the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) he was operating collided with a westbound vehicle on Route 321 at Apollo Drive in East Kane, Wetmore Township.
A medical helicopter transported the boy to a hospital in Buffalo, N.Y. The extent of his injuries were unknown Tuesday evening.
The four persons in the vehicle did not sustain major injuries, according to Kane Fire Chief Tim Holt. The vehicle flipped onto its side and the ATV and boy were trapped beneath the wreckage, sources said.
A professional forester is critical of the removal of âstreetâ trees in the borough of Kane.
Tom Kase, who is a member of the Kane Shade Commission, leveled his criticism Monday in a report presented to the Kane Borough Council.
âTo continue down the path of cutting our âstreetâ trees without replacing them is an ugly choice aesthetically and a terrible choice economically and environmentally,â Kase told council.
He said âthis idea of eliminating âstreetâ trees in Kane is terrible,â he said.
