Mt. Jewett councilman is asked to resign

MT. JEWETT – Mt. Jewett Councilman Brett Morgan has been asked to resign due to alleged inappropriate remarks made on stage at the Mt. Jewett Swedish Festival last month.
Jim Troutman and Francis Auriemmo Jr. of Mt. Jewett both have called for the removal of Morgan from the borough government. They called for Morgan's resignation Tuesday at a meeting of the borough council.
According to Troutman, Morgan took the Center Street stage at the Swedish Festival on Friday, Aug. 10 and mocked his business-- Troutman Sanitation.

Elder Milliard waives preliminary hearing for new charges

JOHNSONBURG - Francis Anthony Milliard, 54, of Ridgway, currently incarcerated on arson and arson-related charges for his alleged role in setting two Elk County house fires, as well as charges of attempted murder and assault stemming from the beating of a Ridgway man, was in District Court in Johnsonburg Wednesday where he waived his preliminary hearing on new charges of felony firearm possession and violations of the Controlled Substance, Drug, Device, and Cosmetics Act (CSDDCA).
