November 20th
Just as many Kane area residents are sitting down to enjoy their Thanksgiving dinner, members of the Kane Eagles Club will be busy delivering hot meals to senior citizens and others who are alone on the holiday.
The body of Michael Snyder was recovered from the Kinzua Dam Tuesday, Nov. 20 at approximately 5 p.m. in the same area where the body of his wife was recovered on Nov. 11. The couple had drowned in a boating accident.

SMETHPORT – The employees of the Sena Kean Manor in Smethport have been engaging in some good-hearted competition this holiday season.
November 18th
Workers from for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) take advantage of recent sunny mild weather to seal cracks in the pavement on state Route 6 in Kane. The workers normally are plowing snow by this time of the season. But the snowplows remain parked at the PennDOT base on Route 6 near Kane.
November 16th
The Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Kane has donated $2,000 to the Friends’ Memorial Public Library in Kane. Taking part in the check presentation at the VFW are, left to right: Chuck Wilbert, commander of the VFW; Cindy Parker, library director; and Curt Hartman, a member of the library Board of Directors.
November 15th
It's that time of the year when Kane area residents are looking ahead to the festive holiday season.
It's also a special time when residents are asked to reach into their hearts and pocketbooks to donate money, toys and clothing to benefit needy children in the area at Christmastime.
November 14th
Despite extensive repair work, the wooden skate/bike ramps at Glenwood Park in Kane remain closed indefinitely.
Many donations have been received for new surface materials at the youth facility. Volunteers—both teens and adults—have been handling the repair work.
The main issue now is insurance.
Kane native Sean Perry will premiere his newest film this Saturday night at 8 p.m. at the Kane Elks Club on Chestnut Street. Sean Perry Productions will present the initial public viewing of “Diamonds Are A Con’s Best Friend,” along with showings of two of his earlier films.
November 13th
SMETHPORT – Ken Bush of Lantz Corners is retiring as the McKean County maintenance director.
His last day on the job is next Wednesday.
Bush has held the county position for the past five years.Â

Police said Kane residents Mike Snyder and his wife, Terry Lee died when their canoe capsized Sunday at the reservoir. Police said the woman's body was recovered Sunday. The Ludlow Volunteer Fire Department asked the Kane firefighters to help Tuesday in a shoreline search for the man.
