Proposed Highland Twp. budget shows no tax hike

JAMES CITY –The proposed Highland Township budget for 2014 shows no increase in property taxes.
Highland supervisors Paul Burton Sr. and Jim Wolfe agreed Wednesday to adopt the tentative budget that will be on public display at the township office. The supervisors are expected to adopt a final budget at their meeting Dec. 11 at the township building in James City.

Milstead is confirmed as Highland supervisor

JAMES CITY – Joe Milstead, a write-in candidate, has been confirmed as the winner in the Nov. 5 election for a two-year seat on the Highland Township Board of Supervisors.
According to figures provided Wednesday by Kim Frey, director of the Elk County Board of Elections, Milstead edged Glen Hulings for the seat by a vote of 94-90.
