LANTZ CORNERS â€“ A fast-moving fire early Monday morning destroyed the Jason Rankin residence at 9261 Route 6 in Hamlin Township.
No injuries were reported, according to Dan "Beans" Gustafson, chief of the Mt. Jewett Volunteer Fire Department.
MT. JEWETT â€“ The proposed 2014 budget for Mt. Jewett is still a work in progress. Rather than act Monday to adopt a tentative spending plan for next year, the Mt. Jewett Borough Council scheduled a "work session" to discuss the budget.
BRADFORD â€“ Suspended Kane Police Chief Brian Hillard is expected to waive his preliminary hearing in a criminal case filed by the state Attorney General's office.
Hillard is accused of falsifying firearms training records for three Kane police officers.
The Salvation Armyâ€™s world famous Red Kettles have been an American tradition since 1891. These familiar Red Kettles will be hitting streets and shopping areas soon, and The Salvation Army is seeking volunteer bell ringers to raise much-needed funds to help their neighbors in need.
